Vintage Cara Croninger early '80s hand-carved, cast and finished one-of-a-kind resin and acrylic earrings in shades of white, cream, black and grey with sterling silver ear wires.
Length:3-inches (from top of ear wire)
Width:1/2-inch (near base)
Mint, collectible condition.
As an example of Croninger's incredible artistry, a charcoal color on the outer edge of each earring creates definition and depth.
These earrings were purchased from the legendary Artwear Gallery in New York City's Soho.  The gallery led the 20th-century "Art-to-Wear" movement.  Croninger's distinctive, sculptural, brilliantly colored jewelry was a favorite of top designers, especially Geoffrey Beene, who frequently collaborated with her.  Her pieces appeared in the pages of Vogue for over 30 years.  Cara Croninger died in 2019.  Her work is no longer in production.
