Description
Victorian Stamped Brass Sash Pin Brooch Faux Buckle Two Purple StonesIn the late Victorian and early Edwardian eras, large sash pins/brooches, often resembling buckles were a popular item of wear. Fashionable women would copy Queen Victoria's style by wearing a sash from over their shoulder to their hip. Sash pins were used to fasten the sash at the hip. Common characteristics include thick pin stems in order to pass through several layers of fabric, and simple "C" clasps.
This piece has an elongated pentagram design with a single purple cabochon at the top and bottom. The brass is a stamped flourish design. It includes a faux buckle prong at the center.
The piece is in good condition with typical age discoloration. The C Clasp is present. It has a very thick pin.
The piece measures 2-1/2" wide by 2" high.
